The
Ivory Coast forward enjoyed an impressive first spell in Premier league scoring
13 goals following his £3.5m switch from Spanish outfit Levante.
He
helped Wigan to lift the FA Cup, but was unable to prevent the Latics' slide to
relegation from the Premier League.
Liverpool
and Norwich were also interested in the 29 year-old, but Everton have won the
race for his signature.
Kone
said recently: “You always have ambitions as a footballer, and I don’t intend
to play in the English second division.”
Kone re-united with his former boss Roberto Martinez, who brought
him to EPL in 2012/13 season.
